FLORES KOMODO ADVENTURE

8 DAYS / 7 NIGHTS


DAY 01: ARRIVAL MAUMERE

On arrival at Frans Seda airport, you will meet by our tour guide and transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight.


DAY 02: MAUMEREMONI

Breakfast at hotel then drive to Moni passing through some object of the tourism such as WURING – the fishermen village with houses built on stilts, LEDALERO –to see the Bikon Blewut museum. Lunch will be provided en route. During the day you will experience the dramatic change in both nature pattern and ethnicity. In the afternoon you will find yourself in the Lio ethnic’s environment and one of their traditional house of Ranggase in Jopu village. Dinner and overnight at Flores Sare hotel.


DAY 03: MONIKELIMUTU RIUNG

Early morning drive up to Kelimutu and experiencing the three colored lakes of Kelimutu, one of the Indonesia's most mysterious ands dramatic sights. The three lakes set in deep craters at a height of 1,600m. Down to Moni for breakfast then drive to ENDE passing through ravines and villages. There is a chance for photo stop in Nduaria Fruit market and rice terraces. Lunch will provided in Ende. Afternoon drive to RIUNG, en route stop at PENGGAJAWA – the blue pebble beach.


DAY 04: RIUNGBAJAWA

There is Nature Conservation Park in Riung mainly to protect the under water ecosystem. Take your chance to explore the small isles off shore – known for the beautiful coral gardens with white sand beach. There is an island with unspoiled mangrove forest inhabited by thousands of huge fruit eating bats. Picnic lunch will be served on the island. Afternoon drive to Bajawa. Diner and overnight at Bintang Wisata Hotel.


DAY 05: BAJAWA RUTENG

Bajawa is located in the heart of Ngada ethnic civilization, which is known for megalithic culture. There are some traditional villages furnished with stone monuments, ancestor worship shrines and adat house. The hamlets is settled in the volcanic mountainous area. The most beautiful one is Bena traditional village. Visit this village and in the afternoon drive to Ruteng. It is another beautiful driving day; you will pass the villages and the rain forest. If the time permitted, stretch your legs stopping at Ranamese lake and follow the trail in the cloud forest. Dinner and over night at Dahlia hotel or similar.


DAY 06: RUTENG LABUAN BAJO - RINCA

Ruteng is a small town in the back bone of Flores and neighbor to the Ruteng Nature Conservation Park. – The home of Ngkiong – the endemic singing birds. It is worth to visit the Park early in the morning to attend the nature’s concert of singing birds (if no rain and strong wind). There is also a newly popped up volcano in the park. Take your chance to have a closer look into it. Drive afterwards to Labuan Bajo en route stop at Car Village to see the unexposed worlds wonder – LINGKO the spider web rice fields. It is probably the only such a rice field ever exists on earth. Arrive in Labuan Bajo transfer to harbor and set a sail to RINCA island. Upon arrival in Rinca, take a trek to trace the dragons and the wild life of the park. Lunch and dinner on board.


DAY 07: RINCAKOMODO LABUAN BAJO

Early in the morning set sail to Komodo passing narrow straits with strong currents, arrive in Komodo follow the trail to reach Banunggulung the former feeding ground to watch the Komodo dragons. It is about two km one way walking. Around mid day return to Labuan Bajo, en-route stop at Pantai Merah – the pink color sand beach – with beautiful coral garden, good for snorkeling and swimming. Lunch on board.


DAY 08: LABUAN BAJO – DEPARTURE

Morning free at leisure until the time for transferring to Komodo airport for your onwards destination.

DAY 02: MAUMEREMONI

Early morning drive up to the three colored lake Kelimutu, one of the Indonesia’s most dramatic sight. Down road to Moni for breakfast, then continue to Ende for its traditional market. Lunch at local restaurant , then to Nuabosi offer wonderful views of the town and Ende Bay. In the afternoon proceed to Bajawa with en route stop at Penggajawa – the blue pebble beach and Wogo traditional village which has a collection of rather neglected megaliths.

DAY 04: BAJAWA RUTENG

DAY 01: ARRIVAL LABUAN BAJO RINCA

Upon arrival transfer to harbor to catch a boat cross to Rinca island. It takes about 3 hours to reach the island. If time permits take the chance to trace the dragons on the island. Dinner and overnight on board or at ranger’s house.

 

DAY 02: RINCA LABUAN BAJO RUTENG

Early breakfast on board and then start trekking to trace the komodo dragon, along the part there are possibilities to encounter wild animals and various species of tropical birds. There are wild buffalo, deer and boar in the island, return then to boat and sail back to Labuan Bajo. lunch will be provided on board. Upon arrival in Labuan Bajo drive directly to Ruteng. En route visit care village where / LINGKO the spider web shaped rice fields are located. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

 

DAY 03: RUTENG BAJAWA

Ruteng is a small town in the backbone of Flores and neighbor to the Ruteng Nature Conservation Park- the home of Ngkiong – the endemic singing birds. It is worth to visit the park early in the morning  to attend the nature’s concert of the singing birds ( if no rain and strong wind) there is also a new popped up volcano in the park. Take your chance to have to closer look into it. Drive afterwards to Bajawa with beautiful panoramic views. Take your chance for photo stops. The first stop will be a renamese- a crater with cloud forest. Lunch in Bajawa. Afternoon visit to Wogo, one of the big traditional village of Ngadha ethnic.

 

DAY 04: BAJAWA BENARIUNG

After breakfast, excursion to Bena Passing through huge and gigantic bamboo plantation, picture Inerie volcano and take the short walks in the vicinity. Arrive in Bena, see traditional house and megalithic tombs, lern the meaning of Ngadu and Baga symbolizing male and female of ancestral spirit. Back to Bajawa lunch. Drive to Soa en route stop in Naru a village with huge megalithic monuments; arrived in Soa visit Mengeruda a hot water spring to dip in for relaxation. Proceed then to Riung. Dinner and overnight at Pondok SVD.

 

DAY 05: RIUNGENDE

There is Nature conservation in Riung mainly to protect the under water ecosystem. Take your chance to explore the small isles of shore-known for the beautiful coral gardens with white sand beach.There is an island with unspoiled mangrove forests inhabited by thousands of huge fruiteating bats. Take your chance to explore the park in half day program. Picnic lunch. Proceed afterwards to Ende and stop at Panggajawa beach-where people collecting blue pebble for inter insular trading. Upon arrival in Ende drive towards Nuabosi until reach the fancage point to enjoy an arrival view of Ende town, which is fortified with volcanoes and beautifully located of Flores. Dinner and overnight in Ende.

 

DAY 06: ENDEKELIMUTU – MAUMERE

Early morning drive up to the three colored lake of Kelimutu, one of the Indonesia’s most mysterious and dramatic sight . The three lakes , set and deep craters at a height of 1,600 m. Down to Moni for breakfast , then continue to Maumere with stop at Lio hill tribes of Jopu and Ranggase offers fine Ikat weaving, then the village of Wolowaru. Lunch is provided.


DAY 07: MAUMERE – DEPARTURE

Morning free at leisure until the time for transferring to Waioti airport for your onwards destination.
